Kathy, Kaylee and myself were honored when the decision was made to host the 10th Annual Poker Run in memory of our daughter Kirsten. For those that are new to the club or event, Kirsten passed away in 2024 at the age of 24 from a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. She was diagnosed just 2.5 months before graduating from the University of Alabama in 2021. She battled courageously with determination and never gave up. She kept her beautiful smile and sense of humor despite undergoing numerous chemo and radiation regimes and three brain surgeries over the three years she battled it. St Jude Children's Research Hospital is at the forefront of developing treatments for this and other aggressive childhood cancers, thus the link to the event. We just pray that they can develop more effective treatments/cures so that other children/young adults won't have to endure the harsh regimes currently used with poor outcomes.

We appreciated all the prayers, love and support that we received from the club during her fight and again are honored that she is being remembered in this way. We are also looking forward to presenting two of our club members/dependents that are college bound this year with the 3rd Annual Kirsten Eldridge Memorial Scholarships.
