LISTEN guys and gals ESPECIALLY single track folks. The Poker Run event is in less than 2 months. To put something like this on it takes workers. This event is hosted by the SXS guys although bikes and quads can participate. This is their yearly event just like us bike folks have our hare scramble (usually 2 or 3). When we have our races, the SXS's show up in full force to help and some even help put in the course. It's time for some pay back. Below is a list of work areas.... Be thinking of the times when you were racing and came to a road crossing and saw a SXS sitting there blocking traffic OR them riding around with their 2way radio's making sure we all got out of the woods safely. You definitely don't have to be a bike guy to volunteer LOL BUT I think we should step up...Here's the list: Gate, 5 Check points (where you draw a card for your poker hand, The Basement, Mini Bowl, Bowl, 2-Step and Event Parking. The event parking is where the participant will draw their 1st AND last card for their hand. We need food servers, some people at a Raffle sales table, sweep riders, guides (possibly), Pit police, help with sitting up (Friday) and Clean-up (Sunday). You can also say "Put me Anywhere". About once a week, I'll put out an updated list. If you have questions, 1st consult the flyer. If the answer is not there then I probably won't know either but I know folks who will.

Environmental Workday: April 29th -Mark it on your calendars

This is the final list in the work we needed to do for AFM and TDEC this year.

This is a ways off but wanted to let everyone know that we will be putting straw bales and erosion fencing on some hills on this date. We have 7 spots that we need to concentrate on. The trails have all been re routed away from these areas. If we can get 3-4 folks with a utv, plus a few others in each team, we can knock the work out in a few hours that morning, eat some lunch and then ride in the afternoon. Hopefully we get a turnout like we did last July, at least the temperatures won't be as bad this time of year.

Its been a great year for NATRA!  Thanks to the efforts of an army of workers our Club has surpassed several milestones  The club has made huge progress in satisfying the requirements of AFM and the TEDC. Club members stepped up and made the improvements that made the difference. My last conversations with the TEDC and AFM representatives were very positive. However NATRA is not out of the woods. We will from here on out, need to continue those efforts, and will always be under their watchful eye. The Club exceeded everyones guess on membership for 2016, and we already have 888 Primary Active members for 2017. I'm not aware of any new issues or controversies. Everyone seems to be getting along and working together much better this year and we already have two events on the Calendar for 2017. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve NATRA this past year. All of your efforts and support have taken the hard parts and made them much easier.  I have always said that any of you could no doubt do a much better job than I have as president. I have always extended the invitation to replace me and a willingness to step aside to anyone who wanted a shot, and was willing to work to see their Ideas come to pass. Brandon McClain has stepped up and expressed an interest to be more involved this year in the decision making process. I welcome that 100%.  I will step aside as president and honor his willingness to put some sweat behind his Ideas. Brandon has done a fine job as Vice president is is well able to Lead the Club as president. The transition will be uneventful as he is familiar with all the aspects of the job. I am excited about the prospect of taking a step back and look forward to investing more time with my Family. I support Brandon 100% and will support his Ideas. There are always many ways to get the same results. Brandon has the capacity to implement his Ideas. And I think Brandon Loves WP and NATRA as much as I do and will make a great President.

Keep in mind the new NATRA web-site is www.NATRA.Club If you are requesting a new log in on the old web-site the fella that runs that site does not respond. If you need help logging in on the new site just give me a call at 256-263-6267 or e-mail me directly president@natra.club Please don't reply to any of the renewal or expiration notices, I probably won't get them. For many of you the process has gone very smooth, for those of you having trouble we will get you fixed up we just need to know your having trouble, I can fix any log in issues in seconds. Thanks for your patience, once everyone gets used to the changes I'm sure it will go even smoother.

Trail update: two track trail system, we are going to be doing trail cleanup and some connecting trails over the next 5-6 saturdays, going to try and get the trail work for this year done before the warm weather and the snakes come back out. this Saturday we'll be working on reopening the remaining trails closed by the logging and connecting chiefs cutoff to gas stop and Larry rd. We'll be meeting between 8-8:30 at gas stop. If you have a few hours to help it will be much appreciated. 

We will be setting up a large work day for this spring to install some straw bales and water damns on some of the closed trails. We'll keep everyone posted on that date.

For anyone looking for something to do this Saturday  TJ Kennedy will be laying out a new bike trail between Story and Ridge roads this Saturday.  Master plan is to make one long loop in that area for members to ride. 
He will be parking at event parking on Story Rd arriving around 9:00

Membership request require a completed "Smart Waiver" to be considered. Request without the "Smart Waiver" will expire 24 hours after being submitted.

keep in mind you MUST be an active NATRA member before you show up in Westpoint to ride. We are not signing up people in Westpoint. You will be given a written warning and asked to leave.

We have a TON of folks that are re-entering all their information in and singing up as new members when all they had to do is sign in and click renew and be done in seconds. This does not effect NATRA it just creates more work for you and will get you a notification saying you are dropped from the system on Feb 1.

Just a reminder the Monthly NATRA meeting is in the morning at the Westpoint Community Center. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and is $8.00 a person. The meeting starts at 9am. After the meeting, we have a couple of task that need to be accomplished. Our New Signs need to be hung and the Arrows need to be removed from all of the trails on MR Legg's Property. I will bring the signs with me but I will have to leave after the meeting and get our shop opened up. If you are unable to help don't beat yourself up, we will have plenty more opportunities to help. I'm working on a new interactive Module for the web-site to help us communicate work needs better with the membership. Once I master it then I will make it live. So I can at that time answer the questions I'm sure will arise.

WE HAVE HAD 535 RENEWALS.  MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL GRACE PERIOD ENDS JANUARY 31, AT THAT TIME YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO RENEW AND MUST ENTER A NEW REQUEST TO JOIN AND COMPLETE A NEW SMART WAIVER FOR EVERYONE ON YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION. WE ARE STILL GETTING SEVERAL APPLICATIONS WITHOUT SMART WAIVERS. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN WITHOUT A SMART WAIVER. WE ALSO GET SEVERAL FOLKS THAT SIGN UP, COMPLETE SMART WAIVERS BUT NEVER LOG IN AND PAY.  KEEP IN MIND IF YOU DON'T COMPLETE EVERYTHING INCLUDING PAYMENT, YOUR NAME WILL NOT APPEAR AS AN ACTIVE MEMBER.
ONLY ACTIVE MEMBERS ARE LEGAL TO BE ON NATRA PROPERTY.

Renewals will be open thru January 31. If you haven't renewed your membership by that time your information will be dropped from the system, and you will have to start over with a new request to join. "Smart Waiver" is only required for new members. No new applications will be approved without a completed "Smart Waiver"for each person on the application. PLEASE invest a moment and read the FAQ section of the web-site before you call or message anyone.
