This is the final list in the work we needed to do for AFM and TDEC this year.
This is a ways off but wanted to let everyone know that we will be putting straw bales and erosion fencing on some hills on this date. We have 7 spots that we need to concentrate on. The trails have all been re routed away from these areas. If we can get 3-4 folks with a utv, plus a few others in each team, we can knock the work out in a few hours that morning, eat some lunch and then ride in the afternoon. Hopefully we get a turnout like we did last July, at least the temperatures won't be as bad this time of year.
ATTENTION Clubs of NATRA .......March 11th is our next club meeting at the West Point Community Center(9am). WPCC serves breakfast before starting at 6:30am.
Immediately after the meeting we will host our first ever Trash Collection Challenge from 10am-ish till 2pm . The group/club collecting the most bags of roadside/ trail side rubbish will be declared our winner of a Gift CARD in the amount of $200 for your club to have a meal together on NATRA.
We will set up and grill ...hamburgers and hotdogs to show membership appreciation that same day. So get there early that morning get breakfast from the WPCC , then lunch on NATRA , and if you gather the most rubbish, have supper on NATRA as well....
We look forward to seeing you all here to help clean our property up , we will donate our trash to WPCC to help in their efforts to win the most trash collected award in the county. its a win win for everyone....
and most importantly we will be done in time to ride in the afternoon....let us know if you can help !!!
Trail update: today we worked on cleaning up child's play 57 and 91 Lovelady shortcut ( had to re route this trail a little bit) , 58 tj road is like a boulevard now thanks to the loggers. Thanks to whoever had already spent some time on child's play it made our job easier today. We also connected the new section of 70 chiefs cutoff to gas stop 66 on the east trail right before leaving the property, just follow the green arrows. We also flagged off the trail to connect the west trail at gas stop to Larry rd. If anyone has a few free minutes both of the gas stop logging trails could use some trimming work. Also, after re riding 69 husquvarna today, going to work on the gas stop connector, noticed it could still use some cleanup on the south end if anyone has time. Thanks in advance is someone can help on these two items.
Thanks to James Coggin and his daughter Lauren, Steven Hollins, Jessie hall , and Kaylee for helping today.
Trail update: two track trail system, we are going to be doing trail cleanup and some connecting trails over the next 5-6 saturdays, going to try and get the trail work for this year done before the warm weather and the snakes come back out. this Saturday we'll be working on reopening the remaining trails closed by the logging and connecting chiefs cutoff to gas stop and Larry rd. We'll be meeting between 8-8:30 at gas stop. If you have a few hours to help it will be much appreciated.
We will be setting up a large work day for this spring to install some straw bales and water damns on some of the closed trails. We'll keep everyone posted on that date.
